Water supply will be completely cut off in some areas of Chandivali on 22nd December and the entire Mumbai city will face a 15% water cut.
The Municipal Water Department has announced a 15 percent water cut in Mumbai on December 22 and 23. The water cut will be done due to the repair work of the chlorine injection point at Yevai and the replacement of valves on the main aqueduct at Ghatkopar. The BMC water department has informed that water supply will be completely cut off in some areas of ‘N’ and ‘L’ wards, including Sangharsh Nagar and areas on Khairani Road in Chandivali.
Bruhanmumbai Municipal administration appealed to Mumbaikars to ensure proper storage and economical use of water during this period.
An announcement has been issued by the BMC in this regard. According to the letter, the repair work of the chlorine injection point at Yevai between Agra Road Valve Complex (ARVC) and Pogava of the 2750 mm diameter aquifer will be undertaking on 22 December. As a result of this repair work, the water supply in Mumbai will be reduced by 15% in a period of 24 hours from 10 am on Tuesday, December 22 to 10 am on Wednesday, December 23.
Complete reduction in some places
The work is planned to replace the 1400 mm diameter valve on the 1400 mm diameter main aqueduct supplying water to Kappa1 on Tuesday, December 22 at Ghatkopar High Reservoir. This work will be carried out from 10 am on Tuesday 22nd December to 6 am on Wednesday, 23rd December. Due to this work, the water supply in some parts of the ‘N’ and ‘L’ ward will be completely cut off on Tuesday. The municipality has appealed to Mumbaikars to store water and use water sparingly during this period.

Marg, Narayan Nagar, Sane Guruji Pumping, Hill No. 3, Bhim Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Himalaya Society, Valmiki Marg, Nurani Masjid, Mukund Compound, Sanjay Nagar, Samata Nagar, Gaban Shah Baba Dargah Marg etc.
