Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty High School and Junior College transformed its campus into a realm of magic, mystery, and marvel as it celebrated its Annual Day 2024 on December 17. This year’s theme, “Aithihasical – The Mystery, The Magic, The Marvel,” promised an unforgettable voyage through India’s vibrant history and culture.
The festivities began with an air of reverence as the school prayer resonated across the hall, immediately followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana that set a spiritual tone for the day. The Welcome Song was a harmonious embrace for the gathering, while the Institutional Song elevated the excitement and enthusiasm.
Ms. Reshma Rao, the Principal, presented the Annual Report, a testament to the school’s dedication to providing a well-rounded education. Her report highlighted the school’s achievements and commitment to nurturing young minds. The audience was then captivated by a mesmerizing flute recital from Vyas Kashid, a talented seventh-grader whose music touched every heart.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Mushtak Shaikh, Education Inspector for the Brihanmumbai North Zone, who served as the Chief Guest. The celebration was further honored by the attendance of several distinguished figures, including Shri Praveen Bhoja Shetty, President of Bunts Sangha Mumbai, and other esteemed members of the Bunts Sangha and Powai Education Committee.
As the formal part of the ceremony commenced, the dignitaries lit a symbolic lamp, casting a glow that matched the brilliance of the Aithihasical theme. Flowers were presented to the chief guest and other luminaries, and Ms. Reshma Rao was specially honored for her 25 years of dedicated service. Academic excellence was celebrated as SSC toppers and Students of the Year were lauded for their achievements. Additionally, five deserving students received scholarships of Rs 10,000 each, funded by the institution’s SSR activities.
In his address, the Chairman underscored the vital role of educators and the importance of each individual’s contributions. The Chief Guest emphasized the value of conceptual understanding in education over rote memorization. Shri Praveen Bhoja Shetty, President of Bunts Sangha, closed the formal session with a reassuring message, affirming the organization’s ongoing support and commending the event’s imaginative theme.
The cultural segment of the program, titled “Aithihasical,” was a stunning showcase of India’s historical and cultural grandeur. Through captivating performances, the audience embarked on a fascinating journey across India’s rich heritage. From the architectural majesty of Fatehpur Sikri and the timeless allure of Hampi, to the heroic history of Chittorgarh and the spiritual splendor of the Golden Temple, each act celebrated India’s diverse legacy.
The program also highlighted Maharashtra’s own historical wonders, including the significant sites of Sinhagad and the Ajanta-Ellora caves. Each performance was a meticulously crafted tribute to India’s cultural wealth, leaving the audience spellbound.
