The Voice of Powai and Chandivali. In Your Language. On Your Terms.
Welcome to आवर्तन पवई (Avartan Powai), recognized as the premier hyper-local news and community portal dedicated to Powai, Chandivali, and its surrounding vibrant neighborhoods in Mumbai.
With over a decade of grounded, fearless, and community-first journalism, we bridge the gap between residents and civic authorities, grassroots movements and policymaking, and local stories that mainstream media often misses.
Who We Are
Powai, Chandivali is a bustling, cosmopolitan micro-city of over 6.75 lakh residents – where over 54% of the populace thinks, speaks, and connects in Marathi, alongside a diverse English-speaking community. Yet, for the longest time, regional voices lacked a dedicated megaphone.
“मला इंग्रजी उत्तम येते परंतू मी विचार मराठीत करतो. मला इंग्रजी येत नाही परंतू मला भरपूर काही बोलायचे आहे.”
Avartan Powai was born to fill this vacuum – providing a trusted platform where residents can voice opinions, highlight civic apathy, celebrate community milestones, and champion local rights in Marathi and English.
What We Do
- Hyper-Local Civic Monitor: From tracking stalled infrastructure projects (like the Chandivali-Hiranandani connector) and water scarcity crises to amplifying citizen-led forums like the Powai Action Forum (PAF), Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association (CCWA), Powai ALM against gridlocks and over-development.
- Bilingual Reach: Delivering sharp reporting that resonates across generations-accessible whether you prefer reading your news in Marathi or English.
- Community & Culture: Celebrating local triumphs-from school sports and Ganesh festival coordination to wildlife rescues and senior citizen welfare initiatives.
