In a heartfelt and triumphant ceremony on August 1, 2024, “Helping Hands for Humanity,” a Powai-based NGO, paid a stirring tribute to Kargil War Veteran Naik Deep Chand. The event, held at the NGO’s office in Powai, attracted a large and enthusiastic crowd who gathered to honor the valiant soldier and spend precious moments with him.
Naik Deep Chand (Retd), a legendary figure from the Regiment of Artillery of the Indian Army, lost both his legs and one hand during the Kargil War in 1999. Despite these immense challenges, he remains an enduring symbol of bravery and inspiration. As the central figure of the memorable Powai event, his presence left an indelible mark on all attendees.
