On Friday, 18 November Member of Parliament (MP) Poonam Mahajan reviewed the growing problems of Chandivali. After learning about the problem from the citizens, she instructed the officials of the concerned department to take immediate measures and give relief to the citizens.
Along with MP Poonam Mahajan, Assistant Police Commissioner (Sakinaka Division) Bharat Kumar Suryavanshi, Powai Traffic Division Senior Police Inspector Dr. Uttam Suryavanshi, Senior Police Inspector (Powai Police Station) Budhan Sawant, Senior Police Inspector (Sakinaka Police Station) Balwant Deshmukh, Bharatiya Janata Party functionaries, Karyakratas and a large number of Chandivalikars were present.
Chandivali has developed rapidly in the last few years. The development is still going on and this area is gradually changing. However, along with this, civil problems have also started to be felt in this area. The local citizens are constantly following up on this with the public representatives. To understand and find out the solution to these problems MP Poonam Mahajan on Friday evening studied the problems at Chandivali Farm Road and Raheja Vihar in Chandivali. She learned from the citizens about traffic congestion and related problems of law and order in this area.
To break the traffic jam on Chandivali Farm Road, she ordered the traffic department to appoint traffic police at all three intersections of Chandivali and remove the parking of vehicles on the side of the road to stop the vehicles standing on the road.
Raheja Vihar citizens requested Mahajan to take measures to prevent drunkenness taking advantage of the darkness in the municipal ground here and an ongoing nuisance of youths coming from call centers and other places in the area on the steps near the Raheja Vihar entrance.
She ordered the officers of both Powai and Sakinaka police stations to work with the help of local citizens to prevent drug addiction and maintain law and order in the areas under their jurisdiction.
Along with traffic and law and order, many other problems were raised by citizens before Poonam Mahajan. However, since the officials of the concerned department were not present at this time, she on phone gave instructions to the concerned officials in this regard and promised that she would soon inspect the problems with the officials of the municipality and other departments.
