Police Inspector Supriya Patil attached to Powai Police Station has been honored with the prestigious ‘IMC Award’ for her outstanding service in administrative work in the Mumbai Police Force. Innovative work for improving the delivery system or for better homeland security. The awards for outstanding public service 2019-2022 to Mumbai Police personnel were organized by IMC Centenary Trust at its headquarters in Churchgate.
10 policemen including 3 policewomen of the Mumbai Police Force were awarded at the hands of Vivek Phansalkar – Commissioner of Police, Mumbai for their selfless and courageous acts while in the line of duty. The award winners were felicitated with a trophy, citation, and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh in recognition of their hard work.
Mr. Ram Gandhi, Governor, IMC, Mr. Anant Singhania, President, IMC, Mr. Samir Somaiya, Vice President, IMC, Mr. Sanjay Mehta, Deputy Director General, IMC, Ms. Sheetal Kalro, Deputy Director, IMC along with prominent dignitaries from the Chamber were present at the awards.
The Award was instituted in the year 2016 in consultation with the then Police Commissioner, Dattatray D. Padsalgikar. The awards were presented under categories such as Best detection of crime, Protection of women and juvenile victims, Innovative work for improving the delivery system, Best conviction of a crime, best recovery of property involved in crime, Outstanding work done to curb narcotic drug menace under NDPS act, Best investigation to crack a complex cybercrime and Outstanding work done by the traffic department.
Supriya Patil posted at Powai Police Station has contributed a lot during her service in Mumbai Police Force by implementing various measures for the administrative system and personnel. During the Covid 19 period, efforts have been made for the health of the police force personnel who are in the main ranks of corona warriors. She is working through various means to provide moments of happiness for the women personnel of the police force while maintaining their homes and duties. She has been honored with the ‘IMC Award’ for her many such works.
Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Phansalkar – Commissioner of Police, Mumbai said, “I would like to thank IMC for hosting this award ceremony to recognize the efforts and hard work of Mumbai Police personnel. The award was categorized into ten categories and the selection committee scrutinized the entries with great care to select the best cases for the awards. We are proud to be associated with IMC Centenary Trust for instituting this award which is encouraging recognition from the society.”
On the occasion, IMC President Shri Anant Singhania said, “There were quality nominations received for the awards and every submission told a compelling story of exceptional service, care and duty. The nominations demonstrated the many and varied ways of the Mumbai Police Force officers go above and beyond to serve, protect and engage with the community. This awards are an effort by IMC, as a committed Chamber, to recognize and reward the gallant acts of the real-life heroes.”
