A 27-year-old woman working at an insurance company in Powai met a tragic end on Thursday after falling from an 11th-floor emergency window while having coffee in her office pantry.

Jinal Vora, who lived in Borivali East, accidentally fell around 8 p.m., landing in the garden on the 10th floor of the Supreme Business Park. Her coworkers, who were decorating a cake for their manager’s birthday, rushed to help and took her to Hiranandani Hospital. Sadly, she passed away from her injuries the next morning at 8 a.m.

A police officer from Powai police station explained, “Jinal’s fall was purely accidental. She was having coffee near the emergency window while other employees were busy with birthday preparations. We’ve recorded statement of the office staff to understand what happened.”

Jinal’s husband, Siddharth Kakka, a lawyer, told in his police statement, “Initially, I got a call saying my wife had fainted. But later, someone else informed me that she had fallen from the 11th floor.”

The investigation found no signs of foul play, and Jinal’s family hasn’t raised any suspicions. The police have filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) since there were no complaints from the family.
