The fifth edition of ‘Lit-O-Mania’, an inter-school literary competition organized by S M Shetty International School and Junior College, kicked off with much enthusiasm and grandeur. More than 500 students from 35 schools enthusiastically participated in 15 competitions based on Mythology. The program gave glimpses of culture and tradition from Yakshagana performance to Shiva Tandav. The student’s musical rendition of Ramayana and Mahabharata transported the audience to yester times.
Powai Education Committee Chairman Mr. B R Shetty, Vice Chairman Mr. Ulthur Mohandas Shetty and Vice Chairman Mr. Vasant N Shetty Palimar graced the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Mildred Lobo, principal of the school, expressed that, ‘Lit-O-Mania’ is an extension of the school culture. Lit-O-Mania Coordinator and IGCSE Coordinator Ms. Neetha Shetty briefed the audience about the fantastic five-year journey of Lit-O-Mania and that it has connected with over 1000 students from India and the world over the years.
More than 200 students from across India and Doha participated in the online event this year. Students from Kashmir, Mangalore, Bangalore, Yercaud, Haryana, Nashik, Pune, Noida, and Jaipur participated in the event.
Jayshree Periwal Global School, Jaipur won the prestigious trophy for the online medium of ‘Lit-O-Mania 2023’, while the offline medium trophy was won by Utpal Sanghvi Global School, Juhu.
