On September 24th, the Rotary Club of Powai (RCBPowai) brought smiles to the faces of 250 senior gentlemen by executing the ‘Vibrant Vastra project’. This heartwarming initiative involved the distribution of new clothes to senior citizens associated with five Community Centers at the Sangharsh Nagar SRA Colony in Chandivali, Powai. The event took place in the Sangharsh Nagar community hall, creating a sense of camaraderie and joy among all attendees.
The project was thoughtfully organized by Savita Govilkar of RCB Powai with support from the Ratnanidhi Trust, Grant Road. The club’s president, Suzan Tripathi, and treasurer, Lata Vanmali, played active roles in the distribution, showcasing the spirit of giving that Rotary stands for.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Ex Corporator Ishwar Tayade, whose words of appreciation echoed the sentiments of the community. He expressed heartfelt gratitude, likening the gesture to a sisterly gift for the upcoming Diwali Bhaubeej festival, strengthening the bonds of community spirit.
President Suzan Tripathi took the opportunity to highlight the impactful work of the Rotary Club, while Savita Govilkar emphasized the collaboration between the Ratnanidhi Trust and the Rotary Club of South Mumbai in making this project a success.
