NITIE Mumbai successfully hosted its first-ever TEDx talk, TEDxNITIE, on March 10th. The event was organized by the Media Relations Cell of NITIE. This year’s theme, “Disruption: An Inescapable, Unremitting, and Unavoidable Reality in Today’s Era,” brought together some of the brightest minds, innovators, and changemakers who shared their invaluable ideas and experiences with the audience.
The event featured a line-up of distinguished speakers, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani (Founder and Managing Director of the Hiranandani Group), HG Amitasana Das (President of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, Maharashtra and Hare Krishna Movement Mumbai and Jaipur), Commander Abhinav Barve (Naval Headquarters, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi), Mr. Harsh Pamnani (Storyteller and Brand Expert), Mr. Sandeep Balani (Vice President of JIO-Ads), and Ms. Maanuni Desai (Singer-songwriter, Composer, and Voice-over Artist).
Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani’s discussion on the positive and negative disruptions that come with technology and the pandemic, was thought-provoking and resonated with the audience. The presentation by HG Amitasana Das on the roles of the Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), and Spiritual Quotient (SQ) in producing better results was a fascinating insight into the importance of emotional intelligence in problem-solving and the ultimate dimension of SQ in leading a meaningful life.
Mr. Sandeep Balani’s lecture on disruption in marketing and the digital arena was both interesting and engaging, while Commander Abhinav Barve’s talk on the consequences of weather and climate change as a major disruptor left the audience with plenty to think about.
It was enlightening to hear Mr. Harsh Pamnani speak on how influencer marketing has given content creators a platform to monetize their passions and how marketing channels have been disrupted on numerous occasions. Finally, Ms. Maanuni Desai’s discussion about the difficulties faced by female artists in the industry, particularly during the pandemic, was both thought-provoking and inspiring.
NITIE is immensely grateful to Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman of the Board of Governors (NITIE), Allcargo Logistics Ltd, ECU Worldwide, and Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director of NITIE, for their continued support and exemplary vision in conducting this event.
