Notorious gangster Gabrial Hans Meban, who has a record of more than 15 serious crimes like murder, kidnapping, attempt to murder, extortion has been arrested from Chandivali, Nahar Amrit Shakti. Mumbai Police Crime Branch unit 10 laid a trap and arrested him.
Meban, who is involved in many serious crimes was sentenced to life imprisonment at case registered in Vithrithalwadi Police Station, Kalyan. He has been in prison ever since.
On May 9, 2020 he was released on 45 days of COVID-19, Emergency parole, due to an increase in the outbreak during the Covid-19 period. He was asked to appear in Aurangabad Central Jail after some days, but he did not appear. He was also hiding at various places to avoid his arrest. In view of which a case under Section 224 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of IPC was registered in the M.I.D.C. police station on December 2, 2022.
While the crime branch unit 10 Investigating Police Constable Mane was got reliable information from his informant, that the accused is hiding in the Nahar Amrit Shakti area of Chandivali. Based on the confidential information received, the team laid a trap in the area and detained Meban from his residence. He was handed over to MIDC police for further action.
