As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Bunts Sangha’s S. M. Shetty International School and Junior College organised the Inter-Collegiate Short Film Festival on the theme ‘Climate End Game’ on 15th October.
The event was inaugurated by the Powai Education Committee, Chairman B.R. Shetty, Vice Chairman Vasant N Shetty Palimar, Ulthur Mohandas Shetty and Secretary CS Uttam Shetty.
Members of PEC Mr. Harish Vasu Shetty, Dr. Manohar Hegde and Mr. Bharat Shetty, Director John Matthew Matthan, CID fame actor Ms. Ansha Sayed, Dr. Shridhara Shetty (Principal Degree College), Ms. Seema Sabhlok (Principal State Board School), Mildred Lobo (Principal International School), Dr. Sandeep Singh (General Manager – Academics and Administration), Ms. Pratibha Gadagalli (Vice Principal Junior College) and Mr. Snehal Bhortake (Vice Principal International School) were grace the occasion.
Sarfarosh Director John Matthew Matthan, Ms. Ansha Sayed, and Ms. Christabelle D’Souza Show-runner, Creative Producer and Director of CID and Aahat are the esteemed judges on the occasion.
The films exhibited stories of the Climate Apocalypse, Plastic Use, and asked bigger questions like ‘What if’? With amazing performances from all the participants. It left all the judges and the audiences in awe of the sheer talent of the young adults of India. It also acted as a ray of hope, that if the future of our country is so mindful of the Planet, then we, as humans, have done something right.
The Best film in Junior Category was won by Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty International School and Junior College. The second position was won by Pinnacle International School and the third position was secured by Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty International School and Junior College.
In the Senior Category, the first position was won by HR College of Commerce and Arts, the second position was won by Bunts Sangha’s SM Shetty Degree College and the third position was won by Guru Nanak College of Arts, Science and Commerce. The winners took home prize money of Rs 1,00,000/- and were awarded certificates in different categories.
In his address, B R Shetty commended the students for their efforts in making the films. He also encouraged each person to work towards Climate Change. Mr. John Matthew Matthan encouraged the participants and exhorted them to seize every opportunity to put their ideas across in the film. He also shared some words of advice on the making of films. Ms. Ansha Sayed shared her views on Climate Change and asked the students to make lifestyle changes and take care of Planet Earth.
