Therefore, a resident of Hiranandani, Powai area has been demanding that the police should increase patrolling here and make a beat post on Cliff Avenue road.
Local residents had brought this matter to the attention of the higher authorities of the Mumbai Police and MLA Lande. Considering this demand, Lande has set up a police help post at the entrance of the heritage park after obtaining all the necessary permissions from the police administration and the BMC garden department.
“There are parks in the area, citizens especially women and senior citizens, come for morning and evening walks. Police presence will make them feel safe. “As this post is not a police beat chowky, there will be no special contact number here. The main control room and the Powai police station will assist in providing prompt assistance on complaints received from the area,” Powai police added.
This shelter room at Hiranandani has been divided into two sections. Seats for police personnel on patrol have been arranged in the outer section. In the inner section, a changing area, dining space, and bathroom facilities for the policemen.
