NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters at Powai lit up with excitement as they celebrated National Sports Day, focusing on fitness, wellness, and coming together as a community.
The day kicked off with a lively walkathon that saw employees and their families joining in with lots of enthusiasm. Afterward, Shri Santosh Kumar Takhele, RED (West-I) & CEO (RGPPL), led everyone in taking the Fit India Pledge, inspiring all to keep fitness a part of their everyday life.
The event was made special by the presence of Smt. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West-I), along with other senior leaders from NTPC WR-I HQs, NGEL, and the Nuclear Cell. Their involvement showed how much NTPC cares about the health and happiness of its team.
Celebrating National Sports Day at Powai wasn’t just about sports—it was about building a culture of fitness, friendship, and shared responsibility for health, both at work and beyond. This fits perfectly with the national goal of using sports to bring people together and promote peace.
Every year on August 29th, India honors the birthday of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand with National Sports Day, celebrating sports heroes and encouraging everyone to stay active. The 2025 theme, “Sport to Promote Peaceful Societies,” reminds us how sports can unite us and build harmony.
