Powai English High School (PEHS) has struck gold on the cricket pitch, emerging as the undisputed champions of the Crickathon Inter-School Competition. Organized by the Rotary Club of Bombay Powai, the tournament culminated in a high-stakes final on January 18th that saw our young athletes transform into local legends.
The Road to Glory
The journey to the trophy was a masterclass in consistency. PEHS kicked off their campaign on January 17th against HFS Juniors, successfully chasing down a target of 55 to win by 5 wickets. The momentum carried into the second match against HFS Seniors, where PEHS secured a 26-run victory.
The grand finale saw a rematch against the HFS Seniors. In a tense, edge-of-the-seat encounter, PEHS held their nerve to win by 14 runs, sealing their status as the best in the district.

Star Performers
The victory was a true team effort, though several players stood out for their brilliance:
Ved Haldankar: The tournament’s MVP, Ved achieved the incredible feat of winning Man of the Match in all three games.
Ayush Rajbhar: A force to be reckoned with on the mound, earning both Best Bowler and a Man of the Match title.
Farhan Ali: Recognized as the Best Batsman for his clinical finishing.
Siddhant Chavan: Led the squad with strategic brilliance as Captain.
A Proud Moment for PEHS
The team owed much of their tactical edge to the tireless mentorship of Mr. Krishna Yadav and Mr. Bharat Bomdi Sir.
Celebrating the win, Head Mistress Mrs. Swati Joshi praised the boys not just for the scoreline, but for their “discipline and sportsman spirit.” She noted that this victory is a testament to the school’s commitment to building well-rounded individuals.
