The busy stretch of the JVLR in Powai transformed into a hub for safety education this week as Tata AIG General Insurance launched a high-energy roadshow for Tata Road Safety Week 2026. The initiative focused on a simple but vital goal: ensuring every commuter makes it home safely.
The event moved beyond standard corporate awareness, bringing the frontline expertise of the Mumbai Traffic Police directly to the people. PSI Datta Shriwardhankar and ASI Umesh Mistry from the local Traffic Division led an engaging training session, breaking down complex road protocols into life-saving habits. From the critical “golden hour” of accident response to the nuances of defensive driving, the officers provided both employees and the public with practical tools to navigate Mumbai’s hectic streets.
The drive was powered by a dedicated team of Tata AIG professionals-Priya Dalal, Ajit Dhuri, Rupesh Mishra, Afreen Shaikh, Amit Sherke, Santosh Hadkar, Sourav Barua, Manish Lala, and Micheal Dsouza. Their collaborative effort turned the JVLR division into an interactive classroom, sparking conversations with pedestrians and motorists alike about the shared responsibility of road safety.
“Road safety isn’t just about following rules; it’s about a culture of mutual respect on the asphalt,” noted one of the organizers.
By bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community, Tata AIG has reinforced that safety is a team sport. As the roadshow concluded, the message left behind was clear: whether you are behind the wheel or crossing the street, your choices protect not just your life, but the lives of everyone around you.
