A brand-new playground and park have just opened in Sangharsh Nagar, Chandivali, giving the local community a fresh spot to relax and play. This project was made possible to the efforts of local MLA Dilip Mama Lande, who is committed to making Sangharsh Nagar a better place to live.
The spacious, multipurpose playground and park, built by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, sits on Plot No. 11/3 near Pawar Public School. The grand opening took place on June 5, on the occasion of World Environment Day, where MLA Lande officially inaugurated the area and invited everyone to enjoy it. Residents also joined in planting trees to help green the neighborhood.
The event was attended by important officials including the BMC Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shirsagar, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Herlekar, Senior Police Inspector Shinde, BMC Garden Department Officer Mr. Chougule, and many local leaders and citizens.
Thousands of families resettled here under the slum rehabilitation scheme had long lacked basic facilities like playgrounds and parks. With Sangharsh Nagar being the most populated area in the Chandivali constituency, locals had been asking for a safe place for kids to play and for seniors and walkers to enjoy. MLA Lande responded to this need by helping create this beautiful new space.
He promised that this is just the beginning and that more community facilities will be added soon to meet the needs of the growing population.
The opening was a day of celebration and hope, with community members and officials coming together to plant trees and welcome a brighter future for Sangharsh Nagar.
