It was a day of pride and celebration at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai as the very first MBA batch – the Class of 2026 – officially graduated! Since its transition from NITIE to IIM Mumbai, the campus has been buzzing with transformation, and on Saturday, 11th April 2026 marked a major milestone in that journey.
A Landmark Achievement
In a landmark event for India’s management education landscape, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai hosted its 3rd Annual Convocation a total of 505 students received their degrees, representing a diverse range of specializations. The breakdown of the graduating class includes:
- 300 students from the General MBA program.
- 177 students specializing in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
- 28 students focused on Sustainability Management.
Beyond the standard MBA, the ceremony also honored 39 executives from the specialized Logistics and Digitization program, 26 executive post-graduates, and 7 doctoral scholars.
The ceremony featured distinguished guests who shared inspiring words for the road ahead:
- Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan (MD & CEO, NSE): He reminded students that success isn’t just about what you know, but about your integrity and ability to adapt. He highlighted their role in the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision, urging them to lead the nation with purpose.
- Prof. Manoj Tiwari (Director, IIM Mumbai): He expressed his pride in the institute’s evolution, noting that this first batch is now ready to make a real-world impact across various industries.
- Shri Shashi Kiran Shetty (Chairman, BoG): He shared a bold vision for the future, announcing a ₹1,000 crore investment to scale the institute. By 2028, IIM Mumbai aims to host up to 3,000 students, solidifying its place as a world-class hub for innovation.
As the Class of 2026 steps out into the professional world, IIM Mumbai continues its mission to train the next generation of optimistic, resilient, and skilled leaders.
