CHANDIVALI, MUMBAI – In a significant step toward proactive community policing, the Mumbai Police hosted an interactive training and discussion session titled ‘Surakshit Chandivali Sankalp’ at Ivy – Iris Juncture on Saturday, 14th February evening. The event brought together high-ranking police officials and local residents to address pressing security concerns and reinforce the bond between the law enforcement and the public.
The session was seamlessly coordinated by Mayur Jain (Chairman, Ivy Iris CHS LTD) and Anuj Nigam (Secretary, Ivy Iris CHS LTD).
The session was led by esteemed officers, including DCP Datta Nalavade (Zone X) and Senior Police Inspector Sunil Yadav (Sakinaka Police Station). The officers provided expert insights into four critical pillars of urban safety: Cyber Crimes, Women’s Safety, Drugs & Narcotics, and issues affecting Senior Citizens.
Addressing the audience, DCP Nalavade emphasized the importance of digital hygiene in an era of rising online fraud. He shared practical tips on identifying phishing attempts and securing personal data. On the topic of women’s safety and senior citizen welfare, the officers detailed the various dedicated helplines and legal rights available to residents, encouraging a culture of “reporting without fear.”
The discussion on narcotics was particularly impactful, as officers urged parents and society members to remain vigilant and collaborate with the police to keep the neighborhood drug-free.
The event, hosted at Ivy Iris Juncture, saw a robust turnout of Chandivali residents who engaged in a lively Q&A session, seeking clarity on local patrolling and emergency response protocols.
The evening concluded on a positive note with a High Tea, allowing residents to interact informally with the officers. The “Surakshit Chandivali Sankalp” stands as a testament to the power of community-police partnership in building a safer, more resilient Mumbai.
